I have just got off the phone from Apple and must say I am really looking forward to joining the mac world now.
This guy was super cool , he told me he has windows XP and a Mac and thankfully didnt slag off XP (I am so sick of hearing Apple = I hate windows shit) I love XP never had an issue with it 95/98/ME yes but not XP,,,,BUT now I can love both Tiger and XP!!
If I want to hear about Mac, tell it straight , sell yours product , dont slag the opposition, it just makes new people put off when all they want to hear is how great a Mac is.....
Go Tiger!

So am i. Its just an OS - lets get some perspective here.
Anyway - i'm sure the Sales guy would have gotten you quite excited about OS X Tiger, its their job
For me, Mac OS X is my choice because it works. And thats not all, it doesn't treat you like an invalid. Sometimes its a big feature like exposι or Unix under the hood, and sometimes its one of the many small features that just make you think "thats nice". After all of my years with windows - that never happened.

Yes, isn't it wonderful when you talk to people who aren't totally biased towards one side.
I use both OS X and Windows XP quite frequently, they both do whatever I want them to do, I have no problems with either. Mac OS X is indeed much nicer to use, it just looks so damn nice and the features are pretty handy.
I am typing this message under Windows XP.

Yup, stuck on a W2k box at work here, but at least I got a supervisor to install Firefox/Thunderbird on it. If I had my way I'd have the test eMac on my desk instead.
*glances a foot to his right where his PowerBook is gleaming on the desk*

I'm using WindowsXP at home - I'm guilty as charged
My iBook is only 800mhz, while my PC is an AthlonXP 3000+, so I stand by my decision.
But my iBook sits right next to my PC and the two live together quite happily over my wireless network.
If my pc and mac can play nice together, I don't see why pc and mac users can't.

I was lucky enough to score a dirty great big Dell 21 inch trinitron monitor for work.. I drop the iBook on the desk in the AM and Remote Desktop to the work XP box for one or 2 little programs that only run on PC....
Other than that I do everything on the Mac. Its great, cause it just works....

Yep! Platform agnostic here too. I support a mixed network (mostly Mac) but have about 20 W2K boxes as well. While I'd be happy if every machine was a nice new Mac, it ain't gonna happen here. At home I have a dual 1.8 PM, 15" G4 LCD iMac and my trusty old iBook.

As the un-official night watchman who visits the site while Australia sleeps, I can tell you that I am one of many that add to the Windows visitors percentage, while posting/viewing from work...
The old bucket of crap Compaq PIII 933mhz I am forced to use at work over here keeps me entertained with its continual unpredictable bahaviour and increasingly loud fan noises everytime I open more than 4 apps or run my MapInfo workspaces.. The reason I haven't bothered connecting up my PowerBook to the LAN at work: Why increase productivity above that of the English when I get paid the same for waiting for this thing to load up a Word document!!!??
fun fun fun in the english sun! (sorry, clouds..)
