sync problems with address book, all contacts deleted off .mac

This has happened out of the blue...

And only by luck did I wake up to what was happening.

I have 3 computers syncing via .mac. bookmarks, iCal and Address book.

Without properly reading the warning as you get them all the time (bad start) I allowed a sync on 2 of my computers that actually said that it wanted to DELETE 617 contacts and add 2. Basically taking my address book to the 2 original addresses, mine and apples.

So finally I wake up to what it said when it popped up on my third computer (thank god). But I'm left with a problem. Everytime it wants to sync it is wanting to update from .mac, and not upload from my address book. Even when I have added some bogus addresses in my address book to make it the most current version of the list. Doesn't matter. Everytime I go to sync it wants to delete all my addresses and take it back to square one.

Whats happening here? Never had a prob before?

Have turned sync on and off, but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

thanks

Open Synch preferences on the Mac with the correct info. Select the sync tab, then select advanced tab at the bottom. Then click the reset synch data tab bottom left. You will then get an option to replace the info on .mac with the info on the Mac. select this option and all should be well.

I don't know about anyone else on here but I've just about given up on MobileMe (.Mac). My calendar info is still not syncing correctly and today it has failed to sync anything at all...

Your welcome, always pleased to be of assistance. Glad you sorted it out.

And Rapjallan. Have you tried what I suggested above?

Yeah. At least half a dozen times. I have also tried resetting the sync history with iSync, to no avail...

I got bitten by this. Also, you can't sync Outlook's main calendar if you're connected to exchange to me.com.
