OSX 10.5 cannot be installed!!! macbook

OK got my macbook today that I purchased from boddiz.

Now I want to do a clean install as I am getting some spinng beach balls that just hang
while trying to access areas in the sys pref.

Insert the disk that he supplied with the macbook,
Mac OS X Install Disk 1
Mac OS version 10.5
AHT version 3A137
Disk Version 1.3

All I get when trying to re-install is the message...
MocOSX cannot be installed on this computer.
OK RESTART

no option is given to do an erase and clean install

Now is it because the version he has on it at the mo is 10.5.3

Can I boot up from the disk and use disk utility to erase disk and start fresh
or are the disks he supplied the wrong ones!!!

been a while since I had to do all this stuff again so be gentle!

Ask him if the media is what shipped with the machine, if not then it might be part of the issue. Can't assist any further...

You could always use a retail copy of the Leopard media, assuming you own a retail copy. Of course this will lack the iLife suite.

boddiz said that he supplied me with disks that came from a diff macbook.
I'm erasing the HD now and trying to reinstall
otherwise I have 10.4 disks that I might be able to use
hopefully Boddiz can sort me out with OSX disks for this machine if that is the case

ok just erased HD and restarted
NO GO!
mac specific disks me thinks.

Great to hear Boddiz as this is not what I wanted after spending $900.

So what do I do now?
My options are restart from disk which doesn't work, restart from Network Startup ????
Do I just shut down from the start up menu?
Will that eject the disk and then how do I insert the new disks when they are to start up from.

sounds like the disks only work with the other macbook, but for now, insert your spare tiger disk into it, and install via that. when you first push the power button hold down the mouse button to get the other disk out.

Insert the Mac OS X Install or Restore disc.
Restart the computer, then hold the C key during startup.
