Do not follow these instructions. What you need to do, is;
Back up your correct address box within the Application.
Then go into MobileMe Preferences, click on the Sync tab, then click on advanced in the bottom right corner, you'll see reset sync data.
Click that you will see and box with a computer and a cloud in it, with an arrow probably pointing to the computer, click it so the arrow is facing towards the cloud.
Above that is a drop down box, if you click that, and select contacts and the click replace and yes to all prompts.
Go to MobileMe afterwards and confirm the contacts are correct, and it'll update to your iPhone.
