boot camp/Fusion question

This relates back to my other topic regarding running pro engineer

Is it possible for Vm Fusion and Bootcamp to use the same copy of windows or do i need to install one copy of windows for fusion and another copy for bootcamp?

just curious as i don't want to waste all my hard drive space storing windows

you can point fusion at your bootcamp partition and open it...just click on choose in the virtual machine list..and away you go!

so i can't open up boot camp assistant and use my fusion partition?

looks like i will have to uninstall vista and the fusion partition, then install vista using boot camp then use that partition for fusion.

does that sound right? or can i use my current fusion partition with boot camp?

sorry if these are knob questions

Fusion isn't "a partition", it's more like a disk image (.dmg).

Your first guess was right - back up anything you want from your VMWare VM, partition with Boot Camp Assistant, install Vista, run VMWare again and tell it to use your new BC partition. You can then run Vista in a VM or natively.
