Itunes file identification
Hi guys, i'm using itunes on my mac and just want to know how you can work out which file type each of the songs is. I just tried to burn an mp3 cd to find that most of the files weren't in mp3 format....
i've converted them all but how do I know which ones are mp3 and which still need to be converted?

Do a 'Get Info' on the files and look at the 'Kind' item (in the Summary tab). It will show either AAC or MPEG which will give you an indication of the file type. You can use smart playlists to group each type of file and so allow you to quickly see which ones you can burn. Note that converting AAC files to MP3 will cause them to lose sound quality.

Right click on the column header and choose "kind." It will show the format of each song.
