bootcamp crash

Hey guys,

basically I was running bootcamp when it crashed as i was partition my drives. after the reboot I've lost all this hard disk space, bootcamp tells me that my hd is not yet partitioned but somehow I'm 40GB down.

Hope it makes sense.

Just wanted to know how I rectify this problem, or if it can even be fixed. or should I just reformat everything?

Yup. Backup (if you haven't already,) repartition, reformat and restore. Fixing a damaged partition table can lead to tears later on.

Better to take the time to 'fix' it properly by repartitioning and reformatting now.

Back up always to be safe but the same thing happened to me and Disk Utility's "repair disc" option fixed it without a problem. I ran DiskWarrior later just to be sure it was fixed, and it was.
