Creating and Seeding torrents with transmission.
Hi Everyone.. I need some help, guidance in creating/seeding torrents with Transmission.

I am trying to seed demo's of our games to help reduce our crazy bandwidth requirements, and have tested my first torrent using a windows build of TurretWars MP Demo.

I have created the Torrent in transmission, using some open trackers, and then added it to MiniNova.org.

I can see it in mini nova, and can obviously see it sitting there at 100% available in transmission, but I cant seem to be able to download it is for instance, if I load the torrent into Xtorrent. It just sits there saying... connecting...

Is there a step I am missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hmmm.

I've downloaded the torrent and tried to start.

Everything looks fine from the torrent side as far as I can tell - but you're simply not uploading.



Some sort of connection manager blocking your upload?

It downloaded here fine and seems to come up in Transmission ok.

But did you get anything?

My Transmission currently says... Seeding to 3 of 3 peers, but the U/L is 0.0 KB/s

Nothing is coming out... My ports are open and clear... my upload is not being blocked or throttled, unless TPG is in some way blocking me from seeding?

I can see two seeds now, so maybe Currawong did get it.

Yes, I can now see 2 seeders, but I still cant download my own torrent and I still see n UL coming out of Transmission.

Is there any way of loading a torrent into Xtorrent? Without it having to download it? Maybe Xtorrent might seed it correctly?

This is frustrating

How are you trying to upload and download at the same time Seon?

As long as you've got the full files in the torrent app download directory, you just load up the torrent file in any client and it should check that it's all there and then start seeding.

I am seeding from transmission and downloading from Xtorrent... well trying to!

I have tried copying the final file into teh Xtorrent download directory, but it doesn't pick i up because it stalls while trying to connect to see what is in the file.

Does anyone know if TPG block seeding in some way? I can't see anything about it on their website and FAQ..
