I see what you mean... Love it

EDIT: And a mate of mine just got a iMac 20" in the last few days, it is his first EVER mac computer. Previously he has always had a Windows machine of sorts. It's interesting to hear what he has to say about the machine every few days. It's quite good hearing someone else's perspective on using the Mac when they have never had one before. He is blown away with just how easy things are, and of course just how well it works. He tried VMware Fusion tonight for the first time and was in awe of how Windows XP Pro installed and rebooted as part of the install process.

I am trying to convince said friend to write a blog with his thoughts on this whole new experience, as I think it would be interesting. As he is not a technical user, so it would be good to see his experiences with it.

Love the bit how it tells you just to ignore the error message - twice.

No wonder windows users get so many viruses, they have just learnt to ignore everything and install anyway.

HAHA...
and Microsoft calls this "Plug and Play".

Look at Apple. You do only have to "Plug and Play"

I may have to write about my own odyssey between the operating systems myself one day. I started with Windows, then switched to Linux and now I use Leopard.

Already you can see the pattern. My switch from Windows to the safety of a Unix operating system. Then I switched from a Unix operating system that is rough around the edges to a Unix operating system that's much more robust.

I think "Plug and Play" was abandoned after Windows 98 came out.

With Vista, most hardware installs automatically in the background, with a restart needed for a few things.

Check out some of the comments on the Digg story... why do the Apple haters have to prove how ignorant they are every time this kind of thing comes up?

I have a friend that bought a MacBook Pro with the intention to run Vista on it - which he does and is happy (he likes Vista more than XP).

He hasn't even spent an hour in Mac OSX - and I am dumbfounded. I just can't figure out how to get him to run Mac OSX for long enough to become familiar with it. Once he does I am sure he'll love it...

But what to do?

BTW - he is a Microsoft trained Web Developer if that makes a difference to an argument.

Regards,
Shane.

Just figured

Just thought I would point out that the BCD3000 was designed ground up for the Mac platform. It probably isn't fair to compare the two in that way.

Digg is the evidence that children shouldn't be allowed to post on the internet.
