What will you do when PCs get OSX?
One of the major reasons that I switched to a Mac mini was the elegant OSX and it's inbuilt security. There is a rumour in the wild iTWire - Apple to release PC version of Leopard in Q3 that OS X for PC will be released by Apple. What will you do if this happens?
I have mixed feelings, it is good that OSX will make the internet a more secure experience for more users but I know that it will then become a greater target for attack so it is a bad thing.
What do you reckon?

If it does happen, I will rejoice and head on down to MSY and build my own box and purchase a copy of 10.5 for x86
I would be shocked if it happens though.

I'd be the same as decryption. But for a desktop I'd go custom, and custom the tits out of it. As for a laptop, I'd still go with an Asus. As long as it has fw400 ports, I don't care
But yeah, it'll never happen...

And if any of you bothered to read the article, they admit to it being an April Fool's joke

1) I would probably buy a good jacket as I would be cold - Hell would have frozen over.
2) Be really disappointed that they didn't release OS-X for Cray-1 or Silicon Graphics Octane systems - Come onto Mactalk and bitch about this fact.

No difference to my world directly.
If it did make OS X more of a target... I'd be pissed. But then, I've been advocating Apple increasing market share for ages, so I guess I'd get over it.

I'd do much the same as decryption - grab some hardware and see what it can do. But I agree with the majority here - not going to happen. The big thing with Mac is the control of hardware. They have built OS X around the hardware. Windows has plagued the planet because of the ubiquity of drivers for almost any piece of hardware you can get your hands on. Until Mac has that wide reaching library of drivers it's just not viable.
on a side note, god I hate april fools day
