If you can find and purchase Office 2004 before Feb 29 (it'll be cheaper) there's a $29 upgrade to Office 2008 - that way you can legally run whatever version you want. Then again ... NeoOffice is getting better all the time.

If I install Office 2008 will it let me keep Office 2004? I'd like to install it to try out but I don't want to import my Entourage database until I know that it works.

I have to say, having used Entourage for a few weeks now I'm actually quite like it. Exchange integration isn't quite what I'd hoped for but still, it's nice.

Yes you can keep 2004 if you want. There is an option in the setup wizard that asks if you want it to uninstall previous versions of office.
I got my copy yesterday but haven't had a chance to use it much. It doesn't look all that different to office 2004 apart from the toolbar up the top of the windows.

I like the new office. It looks great and no problems at all after a week of use.

Ok, heres a quick question sorry if its a bit off topic...
Is there some kind of shortcut key to switch between different word documents open at the same time? At the moment I'm having to put documents in different spaces to quickly move between them without having to take my hands off the keyboard.
thanks

Apple+Tilde (⌘+~) switches between windows of the current application in OSX.

Sorry to ask a newbie question, but one of the guys at the Mac Shop said that you can install Office 2008 for Mac on a Windows OS as well? Seems a little strange to me that it would be possible.

When installing 2008 and the option is chosen in the install wizard to uninstall office 2004, will it automatically tranfer the 2004 entourage database to the new 2008

[3] BUT the thing is crashing for me every second time I go to 'Save As...' (which is a lot, considering I'm backing up after almost every change, not willing to risk years worth of work). This is a major issue for now, obviously, and something that wasn't happening in Word 2004. Perhaps even stranger, the 'recovered' document when I reload Word is older than my last saved version anyway, so is useless. The crash seems to occur regardless of whether I have other applications open or not.

same here guys
i installed Office 2008 last week — new entourage works well... some nice improvements and no problems
Word, however, is absolutely unusable for me. i merely attempt to type a key, cut&paste or 'save as' and the program crashes.... every single time! i have gone through the process of completely uninstalling, removing all preferences and templates, re-nstalling etc, but it crashed without fail everytime within about 10 seconds of launch.
i am now running word 2004 and entourage 2008!
