POLL: iWork '08 or Office 2008?

So what are peoples thoughts?

There seems to be alot of talk about how crap Office will be, but there is also ALOT of good vibes?

What are MacTalkers doing? Thinking?

Give reasons for your votes....

EDIT: (I made it multi answer as some might prefer both)

iWork '08 all the way!

Faster. Better. Nicer. And doesn't crash so often

I can make slideshows in Keynote faster, and they look good. It's always good when you give a preso and people are like WOW and you know their focusing on the preso instead of you. Keeps the pressure off

The only reason I have Office 2008 on my Mac is because I need 100% compatibility between WinOffice XP/2003/2007, as well as the occasional Mac user with Office X/2004.

iWork '08. My wife is not at all intimidated by Numbers and the licensing is cheaper and less restrictive.

iWork '08 - Pages is fine for everyday word processing (and makes it look really nice, too!), so is Numbers, but Keynote is just a fantastic, jaw dropping, head-spinning, makes-you-drool presentation program that seals the deal for anyone looking for a office suite.

Yes, yes and yes. But it may lose some of the formatting and animations etc.

I'll be using pages for desktop publishing, word for letters n shit, maybe for desktop publishing too, see if it's better than pages, excel for spreadsheets, and keynote for powerpoints

Hey Guys,

I've been using office 2004 on my MBP 2ghz intel core duo with 2Gb ram and it runs very slow. Its becoming a pain to use.

Is iwork a no brainer?.. Really thinking about making the move.

As much as I like the improvements in iWork 08, if I was just going to buy just one Office program, it would be the one from M$. Why? Better compatibility with files produced in the Windows version also no saving in one format and then exporting to another format. However, if interoperability with those poor saps still using Windows machines (e.g. me at work when I don't take the MacBook) isn't important to you, then go iWork.

Keynote is better than Powerpoint without a doubt.

Pages is better than Word unless you are doing heaps of referencing and bibliographies as far as I have seen.

Numbers is better than for Excel for most stuff.... but it is clearly not geared towards real science and maths work. I have found that many features that are obvious for this sort of thing in Excel were difficult to find in Numbers. For "typical" spreadsheet usage, Numbers is great. It is also great because you can make pages look nice - doing that in Excel takes hours of work.
