Transmission - torrents not downloading
I am currently experiencing a problem where torrents do not download using Transmission (v1.0, OS 10.5). This used to work previously without explicit port forwarding being setup.
I have then setup port forwarding on a DLink wireless router (DI-624S), and added this to Transmission. The Incoming TCP port indicates that the port is open (green light).
Any ideas what might be causing the problem?
thanks

I've tried a range of torrents - also with Tomato Torrent, and still no downloads

have you checked the faq at the torrent site you want to download from? as you noted in your post some sites include/exclude specific ports, you may need to modify your port settings.
if its more than one client, the chances are that its the site where the problem is.

Same issue here - latest version Transmission, refuses to download any torrents, whilst Azureus has no problems (and is always faster ...). I've deleted prefs etc, double checked incoming TCP ports ... no go.
Just noticed there is a newer version of Transmission today, will give that a go

I had the same problem start about a week ago.
It was the final straw for me so I've moved to Azeureus.

I suspect it was a bug with Tranmission, perhaps a new build will sort it out. The new "Leopard" version I just downloaded looks horrible (but then again, I just tried Azureus' Vue browser: painfully slow, like doing browing on a 68040!)

how crap is that vuze thing! Anyway, the latest version of transmission is working fine for me on Leopard. Try resetting your router/modem as well. Sometimes they can die under the load of torrenting..

The issue was with the latest version (v1.0), and the previous version (v0.96).

Same for me, on Tiger, have given up and gone back to the ol' blue Frog
Port is open, even set up a forward, no go, just sits there, and if by chance it does connect it trickles and stops, while Azureus cruises along.
EDIT: Have updated to latest Transmission, no go.

I have had lots of problems with torrents in transmission not downloading, but when I open them in Azureus, no worries. Also latest version (1.0) is supposed to be out of beta? But the inspector UI is buggy as hell. Still needs a lot of work!

There's a plug-in called Speed Scheduler that can be downloaded from within Azureus.
BTW I'd recommend BitTyrant, it's a slightly tweaked version of Azureus.

There has been band width throttling by some ISPs of resent times, is it just that application or all your bit torrent clients?
