openinfo process

Over the last few days I've found that my CPU usage sometimes maxes out because the openinfo process is running. On occasion there are two of them active. The very limited amount of information I can find indicates it is part of OpenBase but closing all applications leaves the processes running so it must be something at a lower level of the system. If I force-quit the processes nothing bad seems to happen. Can anyone shed some light on openinfo and why it seems to have suddenly become active on my system (10.4.11)?

Unless you are using OpenBase (maybe for WebObjects) then you would be safe deleting the /Library/OpenBase folder. You should find the openinfo application inside the folder /Library/OpenBase/bin if you are curious.

I did install WebObjects a while back but haven't touched it for ages so not sure why OpenBase has suddenly started up. However, I've wiped out the OpenBase folder so we'll see how it goes now.
