I've just installed Leopard on my 'new' G5 imac and I'm wanting to keep everything nice and clean and get it right the first time.

Anyway I quit out of the registration screen expecting to be able to set up an account but it just restarted and now there is an account called 'User' with the password called 'user'. When I bought it the person told me that there was an account called 'User' with the 'user' password but I just thought they set that up themselves when they did a clean install of Tiger.

I'm not sure if the User account is a default account that is automatically set up if one doesn't fill in the registration, or if it is something that I should have reset with the firmware password reset utility.

Should I just create a new account with my name as I want it and delete the User account, or is there something special about the first account that is set up?

Not sure how to proceed.

You should just be able to create a new admin account and remove the old/odd one.
