Front Row.

Good afternoon Mactalkers.

I seem to have a problem with front row.

The sound is not coming through my wireless set up when using front row and is only working through the inbuilt speakers.

itunes works fine through the airport set up.

I am sure the Airport used to work with Front Row, but I can't find any settings or preferences.

All assistance appreciated.

This might not be much help but I did hear of some problems relating to it; Basically whatever is set up in iTunes should carry through to Front Row.

This topic here though makes it sound like it (the functionality) doesn't even exist in Leopard :-/

There was some talk about re-installing the original front row in Tiger with pacifist.

Good luck!

Okay, so it would seem that we no longer have Airport funcionality with Front Row!

Not a huge problem for me, as I use a Macbook, and often when I want to control my music from the lounge, the Mac is on my lap so I don't worry about the remote. I only noticed this today, and not seen any mention of it here, so I can only assume those people making comments like,... "Leopard, worth it for the updated Front Row alone.", are using Desktops with hard wired sound systems.

As far as i am concerned, Front Row is now next to useless for laptop users.

I personally find it strange, not to mention annoying that apple can't seem to get standard functionality across the itunes platform. It will access airport for your music, but if you want to listen to Radio or your movies, your back to the inbuilt speakers, now they blow Front Row out of the water in the same way.

Not amused.

I was pretty sure that we never had airport functionality with Front Row.... It would make sense to have it for music but obviously not for Video / Movies as syncing the audio track with the video track will have to take into account a bit of latency.

Worked fine with Tiger. Looking at that link posted, it seems the new Front Row unlike the Tiger version, now operates separately of itunes.

When we talk about "airport functionality in front row" do we are we referring to airport express' support for wireless speakers? or media streaming through wireless (browsing another user's iTunes library through front row?

If the latter, one can just select "Sources" from the front row main menu, and all the shares will show up there, letting you select which computer / server to browse media from.

yeah i'm pissed off at the lack of support for AirTunes these days.

We shelled out for an AP with Audio Streaming that we can't use much, front row 2.0 not using iTunes anymore is cool but annoying now that you can't use it with airtunes.
I don't even understand why AirTunes wasn't put into the iPhone or iPod touch.

Given that we haven't seen a hack implemented for it yet, I'm guessing it's.. nontrivial..!
