vmware can now import Parallels images on the mac

I dont know how old this is, i was upgrading to 1.1 and noticed this.
i didnt see anyone post about this.

http://www.vmware.com/download/fusio...rter_tool.html

they have VMware Importer for your Parallels Images and VMware Converter for moving your bootcamp image to a vmware image.
Or you can now move your windows PC to the mac into a VM.

I tried the importer to convert my current parallels win xp sp2 VM to vmware a week or two ago. The conversion said it ran OK however vmware failed to run the vm - I opted for the clean win xp sp2 install instead.

My virtual XP requires a CD key - yet i used that CD-Key for my boot camp (Virtual is just running the boot camp) .. so i can't use that CD key, seems pretty stupid to me..

I've had no problems converting XP VM's, Win98 VM's could never successfully import.

Hey have any of you tried to install the latest build 5580 of parallels by any chance? I can't seem to get the installation to go past 1% (and it only affects dmg's of parallels). what'd cause that?

I just tried to use vmware importer version 1.0b2 (70999).
The job was to convert from parallels vm containing win xp sp3. The vm was definetely shut down.
vmware importer states: "Die Virtuelle Maschine wird ausgeführt oder wurde pausiert." which means, that the virtual machine runs or is suspended. Does anyone have an idea of why?
