Question Screen/Text/Image Capture

Quick question. Is there a Mac program like the Windows Cam32 program whereby you can copy a section of the screen and then paste it into something else?

I've looked through the forums but couldn't find anything. I'm sure there is but I couldn't locate it.

Thanks

I presume you are looking for more functionality than the built in app Grab?

command shift 4

or simply hit:

Apple-Comand key plus shift key plus the #3 key - for an instant picture, or hit:

Apple-Comand key plus shift key plus the $4 key - to bring up a target cursor, let go of the keys, and drag open the section of screen you want to capture.

Both screen dumps will appear on your Desktop as : Picture 1.png - Picture 2.png etc - which can then be opened in other image editors and manipulated, or cropped and resaved in Preview.

Clocky, as ever, has the simplest solution.
I use Cmd + Shift + 4 all the time.
If I want something a wee bit smarter, I use the Screenshot Plus widget.
It's free and very intuitive.
