I'm talking about the original install Tiger disk that came with my emac. I've just done a clean install of Leopard and I want to retrieve the GarageBand package so that I can install it properly rather than just copy it over.

I have had a look at the install disk with Pacifist but I cannot find GarageBand on there. It must be there because I've done a clean install in the past and GB was installed.

In the screenshot of the packages you can see that there *is* a garageband there but it is an mpkg rather than a pkg (I don't know what this means) and there are no bytes in the file.

Any suggestions?

Open up the mpkg and it will give you options for what bits of Garageband to install.

That's just my problem. If I highlight any of the packages that don't have 0 bytes and click extract/install it will extract them but I just get an error message for garageband if I try to extract or install it. Not only that but it also has 0 bytes listed, which is a bit confusing.

You don't need to use Pacifist to open .pkg files - right clicking on them and selecting open contents will provide access to the files within. Could just be a bug with Pacifist I reckon.
