Unhappy Skype disk image fails to mount

Hi everyone -

Sorry if this post is in the wrong spot.

I'm trying to load a dmg for Skype 2.6.0.151 but get a fail to mount message with the helpful reason given "not recognised".

i've logged in and out and rebooted and redownloaded all to no avail. I'm running 10.4.

any tricks or tips? i've goggled but can't find any working solutions.

thanks maccas -

This is a longshot but have you run Disk Utility on your hard drive recently? If not, maybe just verify your disk - you can't repair the disk your computer has booted from - and make sure it's all OK.

It's most likely a corrupt image on the server - it does happen - but I have had this occur when I had a disk problem also.

There's a new skype beta which works fine - 2.7.0.49...thought of trying that instead?

no one at skype support has written back to me either... grrr....

What browser are you using to download it with Charla?

If you're using Safari - there are other possibilities, such as Firefox or Camino.

Suggest you try downloading or using another internet browser to get hold of Skype.
