is Leopard really worth au upgrade?

hi again,

so i bought my first mbp when the 2.4 version came out... i waited and waited for that purchase... now i (think) im considering upgrading to Leopard. Is it worth my time and trouble? is it compatible with cs3? AND if i do i will also be buying an external hard drive, so wheres a good place to buy one?

all the best,

hiredgoon.

I'm not sure about CS3. Heard it wasn't compatible?

Check up on Adobe's website for Leopard news re: CS3.

Otherwise, worth every cent (especially if you're a student ).

There are issues with the CS3 installer but if you have the apps installed then just do an upgrade to 10.5 then things should work.
And yes its worth every cent

There are no issues with the CS3 installer, I have tried it myself.

It's definately worth the upgrade - I've put it on all my Intel Macs.
Just for the updates to Mail, Safari, the Finder etc. it's worth it.
It also has better driver support for Intel Macs - my MacBook has noticeably improved with it's graphics.

I don't know if I have done anything wrong, but leopard just seems slower in some areas, but faster in a few others. It's slower with all the graphical things (dock, dashboard) and starting up apps, but it's faster with spotlight and other things.

Going to get 2 gig of RAM as a result, but might even get tiger back

Apple may fix those troubles up with a 10.5.1 update, time will tell.
Are you on PowerPC or Intel?
