[Mega-Merged] Strange message from Repair Permissions

I repaired permissions because I'm having trouble getting my scanner to work in leopard it took quite a while and delivered this;

"Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Permissions repair complete"

Should I be worried?

I have the same messages, and according to a thread at Apple Support, it's caused by using VNC/ARD (Apple Remote Desktop) or perhaps even just mounting a network volume under OS X 10.5. Not sure how accurate this information is, nor what the messages really mean.

I don't think that Permissions have actually been changed (despite saying 'complete')

Anyone else?

Ignore it, definitely. I think I got it after upgrading ARD on my computer too. As long as ARD works, there isn't a problem. A permissions "error" isn't necessarily a problem.

But a friend of my uncle's wife's cousin Cheryl said that it made her Mac feel snappier! How can you compete with the sheer power of this anecdote? How dare you question the mystical powers of the mighty permissions repair? Blasphemer! Next you'll be telling me that repairing permissions wont fix my iMac's squeaking fan bearings...

Isn't there a lengthy write-up somewhere explaining just how pointless repairing permissions generally is? I tried a quick search but didn't see it.
