Transmission slow speeds.

I'm downloading te new version of Ubuntu 7.10 to finally remove Windoze off the other PCs from the network. I'm downloading it through (what seems to be) everybody's favorite BitTorrent client, Transmission.
Now, I'm getting low speeds for the download. There are 100+ seeds and yet I'm getting a snail's pace speed (5kbs). I do have a port above 50000 that is mapped to it. I have left the mini on all night and day and it's only done 140mb- it's supposed to be finished by now! Is it because my ISP is blacklisted? I think the program is too simple- none of the control I enjoyed on uTorrent back on Windoze.

Perhaps there is some bittorrent throttling by your ISP? I don't know for sure but it's the only thing I can think of.

Why use torrent client to get Ubuntu, just go download it via ftp protocol or http from your nearest mirror, and let it suck up the entire bandwidth of your connection.

Camino's downloader is so unstable, I never, never will use it for something big. I only http download large files if Free Download Manager is ported to Mac OS X.

Then use ftp, although I recommend you install wget and use it to grab the iso from a mirror site like mirror.pacific.net.au etc
