Best program for monitoring shares using a Mac/Leopard

I have been very happy using Quicken Home and Business 2005-2006 to keep track of shares on my PC. It is the last thing that I need my PC for. The advantage for me has been that you can download the bank file direct, run an investment account as well as the administration account which oversees these shares and enter dividends, new share purchases, etc as well as download the share prices directly. Worked well. The only trouble is that it is not available on Mac. I dont really want to have to use Windows in my Mac (something wrong about that). MYOB does not do what I am after. Does anyone know of a good program which will do what I am after and which runs on Leopard?

Have no experience at all with that kind of thing but I've just done a quick check on the Apple download site and come up with FolioCalc

Maybe that does what you are looking for... if not there are others available - search here

Or maybe someone can suggest something they have used or are using.

There are a few applications that are Mac OS for managing a share portfolio. It is some time since I did an extensive search. I found one or two Apps had some really interesting functions but never found anything that met my particular needs. Of course when & if you find something. there is always the question of getting your legacy data transfered into the new App. In my case I have stuck with a PC App called Fund Manager (Beiley Software) & run on Parallels. The arrival of Intel chip was a godsend because now I have everything on one machine.

share management

Andromeda Educational Software have ShareManager. It's very comprehensive and can keep track of multiple share portfolios. I'm not sure if you can set it up to automatically track your share prices though.
You can open a free account at the ASX website, and enter your shares in a 'watchlist', which will automatically track your share prices. Your account is password protected, and I imagine that they are very careful with security on their site!
If you have an Intel Mac, running Parallels and using one of the many PC share management applications may be the way to go.
I'd certainly look at ShareManager first though.

Let us know what one does the job. That way next time someone needs it we can direct them with vigour to the "correct" app.

Having looked through what is available, I cant find anything that will 1) track prices and adjust portfolio value 2) cope with all forms of income types from shares including tracking of franking credits which is 3) linked with operating accounts to record bank transactions. I'm resisting running Quicken in windows on the Mac but that seems to be the only solution.

I have a copy of Quicken 2005 for Mac ( I think it's 2005...) that I could send you.
Are you sure it will do what you want?

Thanks very much for the offer, but the only one which runs on a Mac is an American version and not compatible with Aust tax processes etc. I am going to use Parallels and my existing Quicken I think.
