Time Machine restored apps require key
Interesting - I restored Toast and Vmware Fusion from the backup I took before re-installing (I originally did an upgrade, backed that up, then did an erase and install).

Went into TM, selected the apps, selected restore, copied OK. Started them up and they prompted for the registration key(s).

When I re-installed I changed the user name from my first name to both (ie fred to fredsmith) - maybe this is the cause and not TM.

licenses are pretty much always seperate files hidden somewhere on the system so if you didnt restore those files aswell then you would need to enter the details again
