Looks cool....

Anyone know how to find and set Time Machine's background movie as a desktop background?

The Time Machine background isn't a Movie, it uses Core Animation so there's more than likely no one file you could put on your desktop.

In short, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do.

Though it is just a repeating animation - it wouldn't be very hard at all to do in core image (or whatever its called) with some know how and graphics ability. They cycles it would burn would be impressive though

It's not just a repeating animation. The Stars move towards you in 3D space and going backwards and forwards in time shifts the stars closer to you or further into the background. The swirl behind all the stars is probably a repeating animation though.

It's all part of an application, it's like asking to set iChat's UI as your desktop.
