First impression of Apple Retail Box

The Leopard retail box is a hologram. Sure beats the black Tiger box I have on my shelf.

I prefer to wait myself though I did get Tiger early from the good people at BT couriers. Didn't feel particularly bad about it since I end up buying legitimate copies of stuff for work anyway.

Watching the discussion on The Pirate Bay is always fun though... "Is this the real GM?", "OMG CAN YOU SAY FAKE", "u loozer can suck me coz it is teh realz stuph" and so on.

The really funny part is the number of people asking if it has the "TOP SECRET FEATURES!!!!" that Steve mentioned at the initial announcement. People really don't want to believe that the big secrets were all revealed at this years WWDC and there's nothing truly surprising left.

Noticed that it (retail version) has been leaked to one of the BT sites.

Heard in store at Streetwise that they'll have to pick up Leopard from a warehouse at 6pm (dur to the embargo), then drive them to the store (peak hour), so copies will physically be sold over the counter from approx 7pm onwards.

How did you get it!?

'Are teh secret features der?'

On that topic though, I read in one of the reviews something about Leopard having a secure delete option where your data is deleted to the level where it is no longer forensically recoverable...pretty cool As the reviewer notes though...the inability to delete from Time Machine contradicts this...so make sure Time Machine isnt backing up your terrorist plans or bank scams

Funny story, i actually walked into a retailer and asked for Leopard, the chick went out the back and got it.. Thank god for clueless sales staff.

I haven't found any big secrets yet.

Spaces rocks.

The new unified ui is much nicer.

The only problem I had was it wouldn't find my wireless network, a couple of restarts fixed that.

Coverflow in finder is pretty useless however quickview is very nice.

It does feel snappier but that could be just the fresh install.

I previously had the dock on the left and it isn't reflective in Leopard, however as an avid Quicksilver user the dock is relatively useless for me.

Can someone verify this? Surely there must be a "super secure" delete that deletes from Time Machine as well? Apple couldn't possibly not allow you to fully delete a document...

@ Razer, thats fantastic! If I didnt have the delivery from Apple on its way I would so be hitting up clueless looking sales staff at local retailers tomorrow morning
