Anyone had Safari constantly downloading php pages and not rendering them. This problem should only occur when php is not configured on the server right, but rest assured it is. I've done this a hundred or more times over the years.
Firefox renders it as it should, but safari just keeps downloading the php pages. Driving me crazy. Works with any other browser (on any other platform) but not Safari?
Anyone had this problem? if so how did you fix it?

Its phpsysinfo installed onto my debian 3.1 box.. as I said, it works perfectly anywhere on anything.. But not safari.. (this is the only thing I've tested, I didn't have time to do anything else).
I will create phpinfo.php file tonight and see if it will download that (or spit out my php environment to the browser)
Very annoying at the time, I can assure you.

Ah, if you want someone to test it out.. sure by all means contact me when its in a state to be tested.
I will sit down tonight and quickly see if it does it to all types of php stuff.
I still can't get use to apache2.. guess I am old school.. I will change in due time.. eventually..

It happens to me occasionally. However stopping the download and reloading the page fixes it, and makes the page load in Safari.

Yeah think I will stick with 1.3... for now.
I need to do some experiments with more software raid. I am thinking of fixing my debian box to also be software raid on the boot/os volumes. Atleast with raid1 I am safe for the sake of an extra drive purchase.

I've had the same problem with Safari too. Espically when viewing UGBox images that are linked to in OCAU. But it's also happened on a few other PHP sites. Firefox loads em all up fine.

I've never had the browser do this until now.. ie last night..
I think apple should be fixing this problem, as personally I like safari, its not a bad browser...

Haven't had any problems but you're getting php code spat out at you then it's the server. If it's purely html though then it may be safari.

I just experienced this problem with a J2EE app I'm working on. Safari was attempting to download the .jsp files.
But guess what? It turned out to be a bad build, so the server was was responding with incomplete pages.
A clean rebuild fixed it.
