Classic a drain?

G'day,

Does "Classic Environment" put much of a drain on your Mac if left running in the background without actually running any Classic Apps? And is "Force Quit" the only way to shut Classic down once started?

For example... I was just using a classic graphics editor... quit the program, and was about to jump in to Halo... but first thought I'd better shut Classic off, so I get the best performance out of the game...

Is that necessary? From CPU, RAM, etc perspective...

cheers

Doesn't seem to effect my tiny little eMacs nor my Powermac G5.

If you go into System Preferences... and click on: Classic - you'll see a check-box at the bottom of that window which sayeth: Show Classic status in menu bar

Checking this box places a handy little 9 symbol up there to the left of the Time, which you can click on to activate or deactivate.
