I know I'm not the only one to have more than 1 computer. Since buying a MacBook I found it really annoying that I couldn't treat it like an iPod. Since it doesn't have as big HD, I want to be able to have my full music library on my iMac and sync certain playlists to the MacBook, and then have it update my ratings, play counts etc when I resync, much like an iPod. I was hoping with the introduction of the Apple TV I would see this feature introduced for Macs too.

I think the Mac should be able to do anything any of the cut down products do?

I suppose it'd be an ok feature... personally I couldn't be bothered and I think for most people it'd be a pain.

Most people just sync all their music to their iPod and then when you're off working on your laptop you have your iPod with you.

If you're at home with your iMac you play your music on the laptop through iTunes and the Shared Libraries feature over your network.

Either way you're still updating your play counts and related metadata.
