I last backed up my complete iTunes library on 5/4/07 using iTunes ver 7.1.0.59 successfully. On attempting to do another complete backup using iTunes latest version 7.3.1, I ran into error 261.
On doing some research I updated my Sony DVD RW DRU-800A firmware from KY05 to the latest KY06. No success. Still error code 261.

Followed the instructions by completely uninstalling QT and iTunes and went back to iTunes ver 7.2.0.34. No success. This time error code 4450 when attempting a complete backup. I then tried to just backup my purchases and this time it threw up error code 4480.
So I did another complete uninstall of QT & iTunes and went back to the closest version I could find to the one I had used successfully on the 5/4/07 ver 7.1.1.5. No success. Error code 4450 but no error code 4480.

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.

Writing CD text is turned on in the preferences. If you're having problems burning CDs, try turning this preference off.
The last failed data CD or DVD burn had error code 4450(0x00001162). It happened on drive K: SONY DVD RW DRU-800A on DVD-R media at speed 6X.
Does anyone have any suggestions or is this an Apple bug??
