Will it cope with 10.4.6? If not I might just have to wait till Leopard before I can install this

Excellent, I don't think I knew of this earlier as I normally just use VLC, but still worth getting.

I haven't updated to 10.4.10 after all I've been reading about speaker popping, funky response time to web sites etc.
But on another note: Should I remove Divx.decoder and Divx.encoder before installing Perian?

<rant>
10.4.4 came with the iMac. It was stable, but I needed 10.4.6 to use Boot Camp. So I got it.
10.4.7 came around. We thought "oh what the hell, may as well update". Bad idea. Computer started acting up, being all PC-like. Took ages to shut down (if at all) and the whole Mac experience felt decidedly tainted. This machine had its only ever kernel panic. So we did an archive and reinstall of 10.4.4, and re-upgraded it to 10.4.6
10.4.8... Maybe, but I don't want to take my chances seeing as last time ended up with what felt like half a day of making sure that no data was lost, all codecs were where they should be, and deleting files no longer needed.
10.4.9... I heard of some problems with that, 10.4.10 being the major bugfix for that. Methinks I would be safer back when they didn't make any bugs that needed fixing.
But back here in 10.4.6-land there are no bugs to speak of, the Mac experience is untainted and the old version of Perian works just fine.
</rant>
Sorry you all had to hear that. But I felt my position is justified. Anyway it would appear I might be getting a MBP in the near future... so it looks like I will be forced to use 10.4.10 after all.

Perian 1.0 is working fine for me with 10.4.10 on my dual core 2.5 GHz G5. No pops, audio is working flawlessly.

Perian 1.0 is the current release of Perian Components
PerianAddFile 1.0.2 is the current release of PerianAddFile which was released because of the copyright problems
