Why did Microsoft decide to make the send and recive the one function. Bloody stupid. I have a person in my office who needed to send an urgent email (with attachment), so being the good samaratan I let him use a phone line so he could dial his account. But here's the bloody problem, in order to send the email (with attachment) he first has to recieve 12 other emails (all with attachments). It's taking for ever and know it is cutting into my lunch break, GRRRRRRRRR. Why do Microsoft insist on merging things, it's so stupid.

Just found out he has finished downloading the emails, no he is sending the other one. But before he can send Norton's has to scan it firt, more time wasting

I'm pretty sure there are other ways to send your email without clicking "send and receive".

Probally, but this guy doesn't know about it. I'm just frustrated as I thought it would of only taken 5 mins, except its taking about 1/2 an hour.

It's only because it's Friday and I have had a very stressful week.

in the Outlook Express Menu:

Tools > Send and Receive > Send All

or if you only wanted to receive

Tools > Send and Receive > Receive All

this can also be found by clicking the arrow next to the send/receive toolbar button.

Too bad you didn't see it before... :P
