Exit The Matrix

Looks like the Matrix theme in Leopard's Terminal icon is gone as quickly as it had appeared. Probably slipped in by a programmer and knocked on the head by Steve...

Recent build on the left, latest on the right. Note how the Matrix one also had a pinstripe screen modelled on the original iMacs:

apart from the matrix screen, the terminal icon is the same as the one in Tiger (pinstripe and all). Looks like they have finally ditched that theme (thank f'n christ) and matched in with the look of the ACD's (which have been aluminium for how long now?)

Ah, right you are! Shows how long it's been since I fired up the Terminal.

We were never officially shown it. It was in a gallery of a developer build on Think Secret (among other sites).

As much as I'm a fan of The Matrix, I gotta say I agree with you!

Maybe Apple only cares if the major features are shown. For instance, they asked that QuickLook images be taken down from one site.

Maybe it was just one of those "easter eggs" that developers throw in from time to time?

Exactly. Unfortunately one of the downsides of Apple 2.0 is that those Easter eggs have been stamped out. Remember all the goodies they used to hide in the "About this Mac" box?
