Apple Remote Desktop Help!

How do i change my ports to allow someone to access my computer through Apple Remote Desktop 3. I'm using a D-link DSL-302G Modem & an Apple Draft N Airport Extreme. My computer is a Powermac G4 (AGP Graphics). My Friend is using a NetComm NB1300 w/an Apple Airport Extreme, and his computer is a MacBook Pro 15". We are not on the same network, and we use different ISP's.

Cheers Grant

I went to the site and went under Apple Remote Desktop and under choosing your hardware but, what is it that we forward the modem or your router or both?
