Is there a way to find out the size of multiple items from the Finder? In Windows I can highlight multiple items and in the status bar it shows the total size of all the highlighted files.

Can I do something similar in Finder? When I select multiple items and do a "get info" it only shows me the info for each individual file not the group.

Select the files, then hold option while right clicking on one of them.

Then, in place of "Get Info" it will say "Inspector".

Get Info will open an individual info for each file.

alternatively
highlight all the files you want....
then press Option + Command + i

Command + i - gives you "Get Info" for one file...
adding the Option key as well - you get the group stats

wow, that is teriffic!!! because I was pissed about how it can't just do an overall size of multiple items under 12 (items)

I'm new to osx and don't no all the nifty shortcuts yet. just an idea
