PowerBook G4

and the copy of Final Cut Express might be a PPC application, since you have an intel mac, it will either emulate the ppc application into rosetta (meaning it'll run the app at less performance), or it will spit chips.

There's two things to contemplate:

1. PPC version of Final Cut. You need version 5.1 or higher (which is a universal binary). Check what version of Final Cut you're running.

2. Did your friend just copy the app across? If so, this isn't good idea. You need to actually grab the original disc/disc image and *install* the program. Simply copying it across generally causes issues like the one you're having.

By the way, friends just can't give you software that you don't have a license for, that's illegal. *wink wink nudge nudge*

really common complaint. decryption, how dare you infer cruticus didnt pay for final cut...

although, you really dont want to run anything under rosetta if you dont need to. get a universal copy for your intel machine.

final cut express 3 and above are universal i think.
