Strange keyboard shortcut behaviour in Excel

I have had a problem with Excel for a little while, which doesn't seem to settle down. In between I have had to replace RAM etc, and I wasn't sure if this was part of the problem orginally, but this seems persistent.

Basically, when I am working in Excel and I use keyboard commands for cut and paste, then one one of those keyboard entries the active window will just disappear. The menus etc are all still present and referring to the missing worksheet, but the worksheet is invisible. It is also not visible in expose. The only way to get it back is to accept the highlighted cell (eg arrow to select one cell, and then select the tick, or return/enter) That usually brigns it back. Then I can continue working. Repairing permissions seems to improve things for a while, but it is hard to tell absolutely as I go through phases of using Excel.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions what to do about it (BTW Excel 2004 on Macbook).

Have you installed any special software recently, especially anything that affects your keyboard or mouse? Have you played with internationalisation or other System Preferences? I'm wondering if both your mouse and keyboard problems aren't related to something you've installed.

Sorry, I have not installed anything like that for ages. This Excel thing has been happening for some months, and I keep thinking it might get fixed with the next MS update. I was just thinking that if it is a bug, other people may have noticed it.
