Dreamweaver CS3 won't install on Macbook

I've just downloaded Dreamweaver CS3 and am trying to install it on my Macbook but installation always fails. Does it have something to do with the Macbook's (lack of) video card?

This is what happens when I try to install it:
Summary

Successfully installed: 1 component(s):
Shared components

Errors: 2 component(s):
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Component install failed
Shared components
Component install failed
If there is no way I can install CS3, would Dreamweaver 8 or MX 2004 run on my Macbook?

The older 2 definitely work fine.

Odd that you can't get it, I have CS3 running smoothly.

Check the logs more deeply, it should give an indication of why it failed to install.

This may be a stupid question, but how do I do that?

Go to your Applications folder, and then Utilities, and find a program called Console.

Look for one in particular called install.log which from memory should show you everything you have tried to install. I think.

It may be a corrupted install file. Try redownloading it agian, as my mate is running Dreamweaver CS3 on his MacBook without any problem.

Thanks, guys. All noted. I'll have a look at the log and if I can't make any sense of it, then I might just try downloading it again as it could be a corrupt install file, as hsvguy said.

Some of adobe's products require your installation drive to be case insensitive. It could be something along those lines.

I downloaded the installation file again and attempted to install but the same thing happened. I checked the log, and this is what it came up with:

Looks like a failure to authenticate to write to the hard drive. Application Setup is dying. Maybe try and find another installer. Its definitely part of your Adobe software though.

Had problems installing any other software lately?

Nope. No problems whatsoever installing other software.

I can't seem to find another installer. It seems to work ok for everyone else and I'm assuming that they're downloading it from the Adobe website as well.

In fact, running a case sensitive boot disk is generally troublesome at this point - various apps & widgets don't like it & often fail in baffling ways such as this.

Did McMullet reinstall his system & change the format to case sensitive at some point? This can be checked by opening Disk Utility, clicking on the boot drive in the left hand pane and looking at what it says next to Format at the bottom of the screen about the disk.

I don't think I changed it at any point. I checked Disk Utility and...
