New icons tend to stack ontop of themselves.

Another n00b question I'm afraid. My desktop icons seem to stack on top of each other once the right hand row of icons fills up.

How I do make them move into the nsecon collumn automagically? They all just sit one-on-top-of-the-other in the bottom right hand corner.

Thanks guys

When on your desktop go to View > Show View Options. Then choose "Keep Arranged By" and select how you'd like them to be arranged
