Not certain what you mean here.

If I publish something to PDF, and it has material - ie: text and pictures on both sides, the PDF shows two frames - the front and the back.

?

cheers,

something like a quicktime VR of a paper document, so that you can see if things are aligned back to front (e.g when making a postcard)

Perhaps you are receiving published information - like a complex pamphlet - and Preview isn't capable of showing you enough of the content that the latest PDF is able to display.... in which case you'd need to download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 - from here.

i saw there is something called acrobat 3D , but that's for autocad, and other 3D modelling program.

i was just wondering if there was a program to help visualise your final print product to see it in a sort of quicktime VR. from there, you can things like double sided print out alignments, paper thickness, etc..... This would help me save on printing or when i don't have a duplex printer

mmm - I don't think such a thing would exist, as paper is generally flat, and thus requires no 3D version to view it - plus GSM would be impossible to fathom without actually holding and touching the stock.

You may wish to investigate the purchase of a publishing application, like Adobe's InDesign, which will out-put to PDF with crop marks and bleed lines, which allow you to see how a page aligns with another, and where the print area will occur - what is generally used in pre-press publishing.

Information of that nature can become quite complex, and I'm not certain if a app like Word could have crop marks set to its documents - though I suppose one could always Google "Microsoft" and "Crop Marks" - there may be a way...

cheers,

cw
