The "Set poster frame" thing seems to work with my .mov movies - so the proviso is that the artwork you want to use has to be a frame somewhere in the movie. Otherwise, I can;t see how to add artwork to a .mov movie in iTunes. Would it work, I wonder, if you used Quicktime to convert the .mov file to a .mp4 file - because in .mp4 format it seems to be possible to add any artwork you like.
EDIT: Yes, it does. Took a .mov file, ran it thgouth QuickTime to convert to .mp4 (using the "pass through" video setting). Re-imported the converted file to iTunes (its file size was actually slightly larger than the source file afterwards), and then did "Get Info" on the file, and added the desired artwork (a separate .jpg file in another folder) under the Artwork tab. Presto, the converted file apears in iTunes with its new artwork.
