 Remote monitoring with image capture

I'm trying the webcam tutorial from Aus iCreate 2 but the remote monitoring tab is greyed out when I try to access the camera via Safari.

I can access any images stored on the card but not the live view.
The camera is a Nikon 5400 (also tried a Nikon 5000)

Any clues.
