A quirk of smh.com.au...

I find myself checking through the Sydney Morning Herald online almost every hour when I'm in front of the computer. Two little bugs I have, using Safari...

[1] In the right column, just under the weather, there's a rotating series of about 5 articles - one appears, fades after 5 seconds and a new one comes. Except the javascript or similar used to control this dynamic box doesn't seem Safari-friendly... If I move my mouse over an article description and try to click on it, it immediately scrolls forward a few stories and I can't click on the article I want. So frustrating!

[2] Fairly regularly I click on a story from the main page and then click on the browser's back button when I'm finished reading to go back to the front page again... Except it will load the page from yesterday instead of the current edition and I'll have to refresh to get the main page again.

Any quick fixes?

http://webkit.org

You can get the latest Safari version from there and use that instead, if it helps.

If you move your mouse over the image, instead of the text, it doesn't do that. Clicking on the image takes you to the story.

I get [2] sometimes too - not very often though. I have no solution for that.

I hate the Fairfax news sites. Cluttered and generally CRAP.
