Unhappy iWork

I have just purchased iWork and found that with the Pages 2 software the document templates are not in English. All the instructions and options are in English but not the templates. Is this normal or is there a way to change this either at the point of installation or with preferences?? I cannot find any informaiton in the program help.

That's placeholder text and it's in Latin as per the convention in the typesetting industry. You're simply supposed to replace it with your own text in whatever language you care to use.

yesh... matrimonium est abyssus...

Nard is correct. Often, Font Jugglers will have example text written up in gobbldi-gook English, or as a pangram - ie: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog - yet as that may not show correct paragraphing or justification, and English text might simply be read as if it were important, they have used another language that uses our alphabet but means nothing to most of us.

Thanks Spilla. I assumed it must be an excerpt of a classical text but that historical backstory is fantastic!

Hope you enjoy MacTalk w.daly!
It's a great local source of information , tips, tricks, news, and help!

All easier to use than some of the other large foreign based forums - that I personally believe are now too cluttered with lots of less reliable / useless stuff.
