 Zoom Keyboard Shortcut

I find myself often wanting to 'zoom' windows - that is, press the little green button top left of windows to auto-resize them. It's fiddly though, and I want a keyboard shortcut to do it.

Problem is, it doesn't seem to exist.

The only keyboard shortcut references I can find for 'zoom' are for magnifying the screen as a whole, as part of the Accessibility options.
What can I do? Is there a shortcut I've missed?
Ta in advance,
Paul G,
Hobart.

Go into the Keyboard and Mouse System Preference, go to Keyboard Shortcuts, go down and select Application Keyboard Shortcuts -> All Applications, press the + button, then put "Zoom" in the Menu Title field, and choose a shortcut. I use Ctrl+Command+Z.

Actually I use Keyboard Maestro to do my shortcut, but I'm fairly sure it works either way.

Hey, thanks! It's easy when you know how!

I'm really surprised that this isn't included by default - Apple sees the action as being important enough to get a little green window button, but not enough to get a keyboard shortcut. Weird.

Thanks again,
Paul G.

I too found that to be wierd when I moved from windows - not that windows makes it obvious, but I was very used to pressing Alt+Space, X for maximise and Alt+Space, N for minimise.
