Hey everybody. Just a quick question for you today.
Well, my "cover flow" view in the new iTunes is rather bare so I was trying to get the album artwork from the iTunes Music Store, just like Uncle Steve said we could do. As I am a high school student, I don't have a credit card. I have an Apple account, but iTunes requires credit card details to be able to download the covers....
Any ideas of what I can do? Any (free) third-party apps that you guys know of?
Thanks,
Mitch

Hang out at a Uni O-Week; Apple usually has a small stall and gives out free iTMS cards

Take the artwork from here and apply it to your library manually. It's a longer process but free.

Only problem there is that iTunes overwrites the images with its own if you later decide to use that iTunes feature.

I don't know what you mean. 90% of my album art I entered in myself from that link. iTunes hasn't done anything to my artwork.

Well...it happened to me. I got itunes to grab art and for one album it had wrong art. So I grabbed the right art manually and added that. Then I reran the itunes feature (mainly to see if it would pickup some art for albums it simply failed to do during the first run) and the art I added manually had disappeared to be repalced by the earlier wrong art.

Bummer Mine's ok for now I just won't use that feature then. I don't mind doing it the manual way it gives me something productive to do. Besides most of my music is not from iTunes.

I dont like how itunes when you tell it to get an album art cover that it dont appear to give a error when it fails... it just dont update the cover... so I assume thats a no go

Each time over the past couple of days that I have used iTunes and scrolled through the art work more and more have been filled in. Some it "failed" on yesterday are present today. So either apple are madly gathering all the artwork and updating their system or there is a glitch when it attempts to download and apply. Possilbly both.
