Is there a way to prevent users from deleting a file? or even get prompted with a password before they delete it?

lets just say there are some paranoid users about :P

Well, changing the file permissions would be a place to start. Make the files / folders read only for non-owner groups.

Well, you can make it read only for the owner as well...

Sounds like something you should have several back ups of.

or (this may not be what you want, but…), you can just " > I" on the folder, file, etc, and tick the "Locked" checkbox under general.

that fixes the simple "accidently deleted" thing, but, it's not really secure.
