Anyone plan on actually linking to the product in the announcement/post? For those who wish to read/click and not google.

Link to MediaCentral. The only problem with this version is that the demo has a 5 minute timeout which makes it hard to test.

Interesting..
I've said it once and I will say it again. Soon as eyetv2 has a partnership with icetv or something in Australia that enabled them to provide a guide in the software, and then the function to logon to icetv to set favourite shows (and then when the guide gets pulled down with these favourites) the eyetv2 software then makes a schedule based on your favourites it pulls down from the provider of the guide.
Soon as it does this, I will buy eyetv2 software and a tuner for my mac.
Until then, I guess all this other stuff around that is available is certainly interesting.

half of that is possible now sort of
IceTV have a mac app that allows remote schedulding for EyeTV.
At the moment you can schedule recordings from the icetv website(you must be a paid memember though) and they also have a mobile phone guide which you can schedule from aswell
The mac app checks with the icetv server and it syncs schedules with icetv's database

Wasn't MediaCentral free before, or has the $29.95 price tag always existed?!
For anyone who has tried version 2, how is it performing? Last tiem I tried it was running OK, though slightly sluggish.

That's pretty cool. Do you have this working? Got any screen grabs showing some of the process.

hmm, it looks like the DDT support are via the MMinput drivers, not the eyetv program.
other then that i like it alot the IP radio is awsome.

I believe it was freeware up till now, yes. It doesn't know my EyeTV 410 either - bummer. Having said that, it looks pretty spekky - just hope for EyeTV support and I think I'd cough up the readies.

iPod_man is right, this does not as such use EyeTV. You won't be able to use the EyeTV software or the scheduling Widget thing from IceTV. All it says is that it supports the 'Elgato EyeTV for DTT ' which is reffering to the hardware tuner.
The MMinput drivers, while being good freeware, are far from the polish of the EyeTV drivers.

Sure do.
You can see the web guide yourself by visiting:
http://www.icetv.com.au/PIMP/pimp.php
Just click the "free TV guide only" button. The scheduling is similar to the widget... ie. click on a program name to view a description, then click record. Favourites and series recording isn't there yet (AFAIK), but isn't far off.
The app just sits in the background and checks with the IceTV server to see if anything else has been scheduled or deleted at either end (so someone could schedule something at home, and you could check on it at work).
Some screen shots.
Menu icon (the one on the left):
Dock icon:
App main window:
I can't give you a good preferences window just yet as I'm not on my mac with the EyeTV connected. Basically, you just leave the MacPIMP app and EyeTV running and do everything from the web interface or the EyeTV interface (or the widget if you like). All three work, and depending on the situation, they're all handy. Eventually we'd love to have remote scheduling from the widget.
If you're someone here is an IceTV subscriber, then I can probably get them a beta of the software.
