Default ipod touch water damage

I have a 16GB touch that was dropped in a swimming pool and does not turn on. Is this worth anything to anyone? There are no listings on ebay, so wondering if people actually buy faulty touches for parts or anything?

Have you tried letting ti dry for a few days? Putting it in a container of dried rice?

get a really hot chick to blow on it for you, they seem to have magical powers to get the liquids right out of things...maybe it works in ipod touches too?

doubt youd get much for it, maybe $20 on ebay if someone wants to salvage the case

Oddy, follow Trag's advice - stick it in a very thin sock or a stocking or a foot off a dead pair of pantyhose, and bury it in a contained full of rice, and leave the lid off. Let is sit that way in a warmish room for 5-10 days, then plug it into a machine to see if the charge indicator comes on and/or if it boots. If something hasn't fused inside, it should come back to life.

Well the thing is that it's been busted for about 3 weeks. I tried the rice thing for a couple of hours just after it dropped butit didn't work. I think it's at the point where I've got a very stylish paper weight

Oh tsk tsk, you should've left it in the rice for a week.

Probably the battery's shot now, and something on the logicboard has had the fritz. The screen should still be okay.

Buy a new one. Turning it on whilst it was wet has probably shorted it out. Even if you change the battery it is highly likely that you have caused permanent damage to your Touch.

more a case of too little too late, i say that because, when you switch electronics on while they are wet, you effectively kill it. i'd cut my loss and just grab a new one.
